French portico clock, white marble case with gilt mounts, bezel with floral ornament, birds and a butterfly, Roman numeral engine turned gilt dial, blued steel Breguet style hands, acanthus decorated gridiron style pendulum, 8 days, time and strike, Pendule a Paris movement contained in a brass cylinder, c1840
CONDITION:
Case dirty and with minor discoloration, left and right corners of cornice molding broken and repaired, upper case sections have been separated and rejoined, gilding good with minor losses, one foot a bit loose, pendulum missing back, steel components in gridiron with minor oxidation, dial with wear and minor losses, hands with oxidation, movement ticks and strikes, hole in tip of center arbor for minute hand taper pin plugged, will need to be cleared to fit new pin, Ht 17 1/4"
